Dear Month One Hannah,

You have no idea what the next six months are going to hold.

There will be things you walk through that you never expected and moments where you want to give up. You will walk through intense anxiety and experience spiritual warfare like you never have. The enemy will try to steal your joy and attack a lot of areas of your life. You will question your calling and wonder why you are here. You will feel unqualified and inadequate at times. Your ideas of ministry will be wrecked. You will be refined and stripped down in more ways than you can even imagine right now. You will fail at relationships. You will have to fight for your team. You will spend hours crying out to the Lord asking for clarity about your future. Throughout these next six months, your expectations of the Race are going to be shattered.

You have no idea what the next six months are going to hold.

But do not lose hope… because even amidst all of this, hope will be the one thing that remains.

You will be freed from intense anxiety in a small bedroom in Costa Rica and will learn how to fight battles in prayer and worship. The enemy will try to steal your joy but will fail miserably. You will learn how to fight for and choose joy every day. You will learn to cling to the promises of the Lord tighter than the attacks of the enemy (John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 1:20). You will be more sure of your calling after allowing the Father into these areas of doubt. You will learn to walk in boldness and authority and recognize that you have a space at the table, even if it is sometimes hard to believe. Your doubts of inadequacy will push you into uncomfortability and grow you like never before. You will begin to see the value in every part of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27) and look at everything as an opportunity to build kingdom.  You will be refined every single day and each day will begin to look more and more like the Father (1 Peter 1:6-7). You will come to a point where all that matters is Jesus and what he wants for you (Romans 12:1). “This life is yours, Jesus.”  You will walk in humility with your relationships and fruit will be produced from hard conversations. You will fight hard for people that will end up becoming your family. The Lord will give you peace even if the future isn’t always clear.

Yes, your expectations of the Race will be shattered. These next six months will stretch you and break you. But the Father will take you deeper than you have ever gone before. You will begin understanding that the Holy Spirit actually LIVES in YOU (1 John 2:27). You will experience unrecognizable growth in your relationships at home and on the field. You will learn to trust God with more than you ever have before (Proverbs 3:5-6). The box you put around God will be ripped to pieces and you will see the grandiosity of who He is.

Buckle up, it’s about to be a wild six months.

Are you ready to experience the love of the Father in greater depths than ever?

You will never be the same.

With Love,

Month 6 Hannah
