Recently, the Lord has been showing me that so often I forget the simple beauty of beholding Christ’s glory. I try to do all the right acts, serve all the right ways, and study all the right things; yet I forget to simply sit in his presence and behold who he is. And even in my failure to remember, he still speaks to me in ways that I can hear. He still uses tangible reminders to solidify his glory in my heart.

Throughout the past (almost) three months on the field, I have beheld the Father in so many ways. Ways that, before this trip, I would have never imagined possible. Tangible, real reminders that my God is all-powerful. I have witnessed miracles, experienced prophesy, seen visions, watched those around me step into spiritual giftings, and yet this is only a GLIMPSE of the glory of Christ. I know that there might be some who are reading this questioning the validity of that in which I have experienced; but let me just tell you, the things that I have experienced cannot be explained other than the fact that I serve a powerful and magnificent God. I can try all I want to write it off as a “coincidence” or “accident,” but how selfish of me to question the power of the God I serve? All I had to do was open my eyes and look around me to behold the glory and power of God!!!

And the wild thing is that I did not have to wait until I was on the mission field to experience God’s glory in new and fresh ways. John 11:40 says, “Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?””

Friends, how often is God doing things around us that we are simply blinded to seeing?

Romans 1:20 says, “But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse.” (MSG)

So, I am learning to look around. I am learning to stop writing off Spirit-filled moments as accidents. I am learning to start calling those moments and experiences for what they are; GOD’S GLORY AND POWER ON DISPLAY. All I have to do is look around. All we have to do is look around. Open our eyes to the glory that is being displayed all around us.

Come and behold him! He is FASCINATING!
