“What or who do you have for me today, Holy Spirit?”

This is a question I asked (and should ask more) the other day before my team and I began house to house evangelism.

As I asked this question, the Holy Spirit showed me an image of a woman in a red tank top standing in front of her home. Having no idea what this image signified, I just trusted that the Holy Spirit had a reason for what he had just shown me. So I trusted.

As my evangelism team and I started walking to the community we were going to evangelize in, I shared what the Holy Spirit had just shown me so that we could all be on the lookout for this woman.

We visited a few homes, encountering the most beautiful and kind souls. We continued to walk, and decided to make a left turn down a small road. As we turned the corner, I saw her– the woman in the red tank top. We all saw her, and immediately walked over to talk with her.

I was already in awe.

We began speaking to the lady (I had the opportunity to step into the role of translator which was so rewarding), asking her about herself, her family, and her faith. She opened up to us and shared pieces of her story. We got to speak life over her and share that the Lord sees and values her. She soaked in all the encouragement and love we were showing her! After talking for a while and hearing her story, my teammate had the opportunity to pray over her. Although she couldn’t understand the prayer, given the language barrier, she was so grateful. It was a beautiful time of such God-ordained conversation. Once the prayer was over, the woman spoke up and shared that, through this conversation, we had been such a blessing to her. Then she told my team, with a smile, “I asked God to send me someone and he sent me you all.” WOW.

Not only did the we bless that woman through the power of the Holy Spirit, but she blessed us too. I just stood there in awe at what had just happened. Isn’t the Holy Spirit incredible? Caring for his children in such intentional ways?

Isaiah? ?43:1-4? MSG says, “Because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.” (Emphasis added)

The Father cares so deeply for each one of us. The Father cares so deeply for this beautiful woman that he interrupted our plans to show her love. The love and care that the Father has for us continues to blow my mind every single day.

Once again, I stand in wonder and awe at how the Holy Spirit continues to use me. May I continue to say yes; and through my yes may I be reminded of the incomprehensible love God has for us.
